About us

We are four friends who regretted that for so long little attention has been paid to the heritage of our municipality of Kraainem and also to its history in general.

From this thought, the idea was born in the month of May 2020 to set up a small de facto association, Discover Kraainem. It wants to be an open association, pluralistic and multilingual (Dutch – French – English – German). Since April 2022, Discover Kraainem is incorporated as a not-for profit association.

The objectives we have set for ourselves are:

- to make the municipality of Kraainem better known to its inhabitants or to interested persons;

- stimulate the enhancement and preservation of heritage or remarkable sites, in particular by working with elected representatives of the municipality or by raising awareness among the inhabibants of Kraainem (“Kraainemois”);

- to promote the rehabilitation of sites or buildings and the development of an environment that enhances the heritage.
